Description and notes:
The Milwaukee County Zoological Gardens have been commandeered by the Waltzer government for use as a prison and work camp. The perimeter fence and animal cages have been well maintained, while most of the open-air habitats have been converted to agricultural use. Prisoners are required to work under guard tending these fields, cutting timber, breaking rocks, etc. and live in the former animal cages. Former administrative and concession buildings serve as guard posts and barracks for the security force.
Persistent but unconfirmed rumors claim that some of the exotic animals once kept here survived the crash and still lurk on or near the zoo grounds. Wolves, bears and snow leopards are the most frequent supposed sightings, but at least one witness claims to have seen a gorilla.
